Partnership for Academic and Career Education (PACE), Pendleton, S.C.: Evaluating a Top Tech Program in South Carolina

HEMS helped develop a successful national Tech Prep demonstration grant proposal funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Vocational Education (ED/OVAE), and served as external evaluator of the PACE model Tech Prep education program.

HEMS assisted a business-education partnership comprised of seven school districts in South Carolina, Tri-County Technical College, area employers, and Clemson University in facilitating the community’s restructuring of its educational systems in order to steer more area high school students at postsecondary education who otherwise would not plan to go to college directly from high school.

The program received the first DOE/OVAE award as a top Tech Prep program in the nation, and the first American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) award as the top Tech Prep program in the nation. Click here for HEMS’ report.
