The PT3 program at Andrew College has integrated technology into the teaching/learning environment campuswide. Comparisons of syllabi indicate an exponential increase in use of technology by faculty across all disciplines and a parallel increase in expectations for use by students. Andrew has developed a sophomore-level course in educational technology to insure its education majors are prepared for upper-division teacher education programs and are able to transfer technical expertise to the K-12 classroom environment. The positive impact of the instructional culture at Andrew is demonstrated by the tremendous response to portfolio development and the technology mini-grant competition initiated for faculty in Fall 2003. The PT3 website has also been instrumental in sharing programmatic achievements and instructional innovations across campus and across the state.

What is in the future: The focus is now on evaluation, dissemination, and institutionalization. Efforts are underway to determine the value-added as perceived by the faculty, education students who have matriculated to four-year programs, as well as those already employed in area K-12 schools. Changes in instructional strategies have been documented, the introduction to technology course is self-supporting, and mechanisms are in place to insure the continuation and growth of technology integration campuswide. Partnerships with Georgia universities, developed through PT3 program sharing, will continue and will enable Andrew College to ensure that technology integration opportunities for their students remain on-par with those available at larger, state-assisted institutions.

HEMS' roles in this project are grant writer and external evaluator. HEMS also worked to secure Title III funding for Andrew College.
